Sanho Tiba
EDITOR'S NOTE
The artist wanted to create a soft and practical winter shoes with tactility expressed in a visual form. As an extension of that idea, she was inspired by the bipolar texture and shape of marine life. Creatures such as coral reefs, hermit crabs, and cephalopods have soft and flexible parts coexisting in one being, and this uniqueness is expressed through the function and shape of the shoe; soft, rough, and elastic characteristics. The 4CCCCEES Sanho Tiba was named after the Korean word for coral.
The outsole is made of vacuum-coated polyurethane that resembles the soft curve of the foot and step. Its contour lines emphasize the unique shape while also hiding the wrinkles that occur when the soft material crumples while walking. The bottom is made with rough protrusions inspired by coral surfaces, and boasts excellent friction, elasticity, and durability.
